Outstanding Youth Award
(Under 25 years of age)
A youth between 16 and 25 years old who has shown persistent success and demonstrable impact on the community.

Horizon Award
Someone who has demonstrated professionalism and success in a career, profession, business, trades, entertainment or any other field.

Outstanding Community Service Award (Male & Female)
An adult who has created a significant impact in the community as a volunteer, community worker, community leader or any other field.

Unsung Hero Award
This award is for an adult who does any kind of work in any field but is not given credit for their contribution. The category gives voice to the voiceless.

Life Time Distinguished Achievement Award
Someone who has accomplished lifetime goals, remarkable achievements, overcoming challenges and breaking barriers.

Outstanding Organization Award (Not for Profit)
Any organization which has provided exemplary services for Canadians.

The Awards Selection Committee will be an independent group of notables. The Committee assesses nominations for the awards and decides on the category winners. The decision of the Committee will be final. In making their decision, the Selection Committee will only assess and verify the information provided in the nomination form.
The Awards Selection Committee reserves the right to withhold an award in any category for any reason. The O Canada Award Selection Committee reserves the right to revoke an award if subsequent circumstances regarding the recipient’s character or conduct are deemed to contradict the values of the agency or negatively impact its reputation.
One individual can be nominated in a maximum of ONE award category, past award recipients will not be considered.
